Health & Safety
At SITU Group, the health, safety and wellbeing of our colleagues, clients, supply chain partners and the public is our highest priority.
We are committed to creating and maintaining safe working environments across all of our sites and workplaces, where everyone can work confidently and go home safely each day.
Our approach to health and safety is proactive, collaborative and embedded at every level of the business. We continually invest in our people, systems and culture to ensure we not only meet our legal obligations, but consistently exceed them.
Key principles of our approach include:
- Leadership commitment: Health and safety is led from the top, with directors and managers actively engaged in promoting best practice and a strong safety culture
- Clear responsibilities: Everyone at SITU Group has a role to play in maintaining a safe environment, this is underpinned by clear roles, responsibilities and accountability
- Competent workforce: Our colleagues are fully trained and competent to carry out their roles safely, supported by structured induction, refresher training and specialist courses where required
- Robust risk management: All works are planned, risk-assessed and delivered with appropriate safe systems of work (RAMS), with risks continuously reviewed and controlled
- Strong communication: We maintain open lines of communication to promote early reporting of hazards, near misses and safety concerns, and to drive continual improvement
- Active monitoring: Regular site inspections, audits and reviews are conducted by management and independent specialists to ensure standards are maintained
- Collaboration: We work closely with our clients, designers and supply chain to ensure health and safety is considered throughout the project lifecycle
